OpenAIGPT-5.6pricingAPI

OpenAI announced a promotional price reduction for GPT-5.6 Sol, with the reduced rates available at least through November 21, 2026. The pricing, per 1M tokens, covers both standard and long-context (up to 1M tokens) windows, including input, cached input, cache writes, and output tokens.

For GPT-5.6 Sol, standard-context prices drop to $4.00 input, $0.40 cached input, $5.00 cache writes, and $20.00 output; long-context pricing is $8.00 input, $0.80 cached input, $10.00 cache writes, and $30.00 output. Companion models GPT-5.6 Terra and GPT-5.6 Luna are priced lower: Terra at $2.00/$0.20/$2.50/$12.00 standard and $4.00/$0.40/$5.00/$18.00 long; Luna at $0.20/$0.02/$0.25/$1.20 standard and $0.40/$0.04/$0.50/$1.80 long.

Other updates on the pricing page include a 10% uplift for regional processing (data residency) endpoints on models released on or after March 5, 2026; the renaming of Priority processing to Fast mode (service_tier: "priority" or "fast" are both accepted); and new Cyber models, with gpt-5.6-cyber priced at $12.50/$1.25/$15.625/$75.00 for short context. The Daybreak aliases daybreak-blue-latest and daybreak-red-latest currently point to gpt-5.6-sol and gpt-5.6-cyber, respectively, and will be updated as new frontier models are released. The page also lists pricing for realtime audio/text/image models, Sora video generation, transcription models, web search tools, and hosted shell/container sessions.
