DevFest is back
DevFest season is officially back, with the 2026 edition scheduled from October 1 through December 31, 2026. Nearly a million developers and builders are expected to gather for what Google describes as the world’s largest community-led technology conference, hosted worldwide by Google Developer Groups (GDGs).
Under the theme “Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era,” the season prioritizes hands-on experimentation at every event. Attendees will work directly with tools across Google’s stack, including Gemini, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Google Cloud, Firebase, Android, Flutter, Angular, and Web MCP, through live codelabs, workshops, and agent-athons.
The event tracks reflect three core realities for modern software development: it has never been easier to build, as new tools let more people and teams prototype and deploy faster; what is built must be safe and secure, since speed cannot come at the expense of stability, requiring focus on secure deployment, data privacy, and responsible AI guardrails; and builders can work with production-ready infrastructure, using Google’s models to scale reliably from day one.
DevFest is built by the community, for the community. While backed by Google, each GDG curates its own agenda and tailors events to local tech ecosystems, aiming to foster inclusive, welcoming environments where participants collaborate and uplevel their skills together. More than 800 events are planned across 115 countries, offering a space to sharpen skills, test new architectures, and connect with the community. Developers can find local events through the DevFest Event Directory and follow the conversation using #DevFest on social channels.
