Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash lets you build with more control
Google DeepMind announced Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash, a new suite of creative controls and generative video capabilities built on the Gemini Omni model, which previously brought real-world reasoning to generative creation. The update makes the model production-ready for professional use via the Gemini API in Google AI Studio, offering studio-quality video production including scene extension, first/last frame interpolation, 4K upscaling, and faster prototyping.
Scene extension now analyzes up to 10 seconds of prior context (up from just the final second), allowing videos to be extended in 10-second increments up to a total cumulative length of 40 seconds, with improved visual consistency and narrative adherence. Developers can also specify first and last frames to generate continuous video between keyframes, enabling smooth camera orbits, zoom transitions, or seamless looping clips.
The model also supports draft generation at 360p resolution, which is up to 60% faster and costs a third as much as standard 720p generation, useful for rapid prototyping, storyboard iteration, and quick rendering. These updates target developers building generative video workflows, creative tools, or media editing software.
